For the first time, the Mondial Choral Loto-Québec joins the CBC/Radio-Canada National Radio Competition for Amateur Choirs. Choirs awarded first prizes during the finals held next April in Toronto will be invited to compete for the Healy-Willan prize ($5,000), offered by the Canada Council for the Arts. Finalists will also compete for the Cantabile prize ($5,000) remitted by a committee formed by the Mondial Choral Loto-Québec. The 13 finalist choirs, coming from all Canadian Provinces, will thus meet in Laval, from the 16th to the 19th of May 2008. A gala concert will be held at l’Église Ste-Rose (Ste-Rose church) on Sunday, May 18th, and broadcasted simultaneously on Espace Musique and CBC Radio 2.
